Welcome to Cream Notes. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we handle your information when you use our application.

1. Data collection and storage

Local storage

Cream Notes is primarily a client-side application. By default, all your notes, folders, and settings are stored locally on your device using your browser's Local Storage technology. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to sync it.

Cloud sync (Aftercup Account)

If you choose to register for an "Aftercup Account" to sync your notes across devices, specific data will be transmitted to our servers (hosted via Google Apps Script). This includes:

• Account information: Your email address and a hashed version of your password.
• User content: The text, titles, folder structures, and encoded images within your notes.

2. How we use your data

We use the data we collect solely to provide the functionality of the Cream Notes application. Specifically:

• To allow you to create, edit, and organize notes.
• To synchronize your data across multiple devices (if logged in).
• To authenticate you when you log in.

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal identification information to others. We do not use your content for advertising purposes.

3. Third-party services

Our cloud synchronization service is built upon Google servers. By using the sync feature, your data is processed and stored on Google's infrastructure. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for more information on how they secure data.

4. Data control and deletion

You have full control over your data:

• Local data: You can clear your local data at any time by clearing your browser cache or using the "Delete Account" button in the app settings (which clears local keys).
• Cloud data: You can request the deletion of your cloud account and all associated data by submitting a request via our Contact Page.
• Export: You can export all your notes to a JSON file at any time via the Settings menu.

5. Cookies

Cream Notes does not use tracking cookies. We use Local Storage to save your preferences (such as Dark Mode settings) and authentication tokens to keep you logged in.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of any significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
